Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1What is CBD?
HEMP and CANNABIS both come from the same plant Cannabis Sativa. Before we get into what CBD is, it’s important for you to understand the plant we are talking about. Specifically what we call HEMP and what we call CANNABIS. It’s important to note that the CBD molecule from Hemp is the same as the CBD molecule from Cannabis. Many still confuse the fact that these plants are sisters. Hemp contains very low amounts of THC. Many CBD studies have shown an array of medical benefits. The reason CBD and other hemp-derived compounds work well for so many conditions, is the endocannabinoid system, a central component of the health and healing of every human and almost every animal. The Endocannabinoid system is a central regulatory system that affects a wide range of biological processes like our immune system, nervous system, and all of the body’s organs.
2Derived from Cannabis or Hemp?
Our CBD products and extracts are derived from hemp (not marijuana), and can also be referred to as CBD-rich hemp oil, hemp-derived CBD oil, CBD-rich cannabis oil, or plainly “hemp extracts,” since they typically contain more than just CBD. However, CBD oil is different from hemp seed oil and organic hemp oil, as these are derived from hemp seeds (not the resin) and do not contain cannabidiol. Colorado CBD oil sources only the best hemp grown right here in Colorado. All crops are harvested, tested, extracted, bottled and shipped from Colorado. Our products are rigorously tested for safety, quality and cannabinoid content.
3Does your CBD oil have THC?
Hemp is a legal plant that the USDA defines as any Cannabis sativa L. variety containing THC concentrations of no more than 0.3%. This means the plant produces little to no THC, the phyto-cannabinoid found in marijuana that causes a feeling of intoxication. Colorado CBD Oil currently offers a Full Spectrum Product.
4What does Full Spectrum mean?
Our Colorado hemp extracts contain over 80 different phyto-cannabinoids. The primary phyto-cannabinoid highlighted in our products is CBD. CBD is an active phyto-cannabinoid in hemp and is also the most abundant, at 40% of the extract’s make-up. Full Spectrum oil means that our products utilize the full range of available cannabinoid content profiles found in hemp.
5Will using CBD oil get me "high"?
CBD is a non-psychoactive component from industrial hemp, it doesn't have any elements of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) that is familiar with cannabis. There is no "high" effect as a result of using Colorado CBD oil products.
6How will CBD affect my body?
CBD affects the body by triggering the receptors of the endocannabinoid system within your brain and nervous system. The receptors regulate various body parts and systems - results may vary based on your purpose for using CBD.
7How long Does it take to feel the effects of CBD?
CBD effects can usually take up to 30 minutes depending on the dosage. Because there are no psychoactive ingredients with CBD oil, there is no “high” effect. Again, results are dependent on your dosage and purpose for using CBD.
8Any side effects of CBD?
Any side effects of CBD are insignificant at best. The most that CBD users have reported is minor abdominal discomfort or mild sedation. Again, there’s no “high” effect or psychoactive properties with CBD, so no worries about your ability to perform day-to-day duties.
9How much should I take?
Because each person’s body and health condition is unique, it is difficult to set a predetermined dosage that is right for everyone. Legally we are not able to make dosage recommendations due to FDA guidelines. For more guidance, click here for our CBD Dosage Guide.
